The Arrow EZ-IO needle set is for vascular access anytime in which vascular access is difficult to obtain in emergent, urgent or medically necessary cases for up to 24 hr. For patients ?12 years old, the device may be extended for up to 48 hr when alternate intravenous access is not available or readily established. Approved insertion sites for adults (?22 years old) include the bilateral proximal humerus, bilateral proximal tibia and bilateral distal tibia. Approved insertion sites for pediatrics (?21 years old) include the bilateral proximal humerus, bilateral proximal tibia, bilateral distal tibia and bilateral distal femur. The EZ-Stabilizer dressing is strongly recommended for use with all EZ-IO needle insertions regardless of patient age, size or insertion site location. The EZ-IO needle + stabilizer kit saves time by reducing the number of items clinicians have to carry and open.
