The Sheehy modified Porp prostheses features a smaller diameter flange than the standard Porp prostheses, which allows easier introduction and better visual contact with the stapes. The cannulated shaft of the prostheses is designed to be firmly seated on the capitulum of the stapes to aid in visualization of the stapes, and can be trimmed to the desired length.
