The Power-Trialysis short-term triple lumen dialysis catheter is the first power injectable dialysis catheter in the world and provides flow rates of up to 400 mL/min on average with straight configurations and 350 mL/min with Alphacurve configurations when tested in vitro as well as the benefits of a third lumen for power injection of contrast media, central venous pressure monitoring, intravenous therapy and blood draws. The symmetrical tip design allows for 2% recirculation on average when lines run in forward and in reverse. The 17 gauge third lumen exits distal to the dialysis lumens and is easily identified by its purple extension leg, marked "power injectable." Contrast media may be injected at rates up to 5 mL/sec or the maximum pressure of power injectors of 300 psi. The Power-Trialysis short-term triple lumen dialysis catheter allows patients to receive therapies and contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) scans without the need for additional access. Power-injected CECT scans produce excellent images to help better manage patient care.
